Custom solutions for unusual projects
Not every home fits a standard window or door. Historic Victorians, hillside properties with dramatic view openings, arched specialty windows, and oversized assemblies all need installers who can think beyond the catalog. We bring 25+ years of experience to projects that off-the-shelf products and inexperienced crews cannot handle — and we partner with custom shops when a specific architectural detail demands it.
Historic and landmark homes
Many Bay Area and Marin neighborhoods have design review or landmark preservation requirements that govern what windows can look like on the street-facing elevation. We have experience working within these constraints — replicating original profiles, divided lights, and trim while delivering modern energy performance behind the historic skin. We coordinate with planning departments and architectural review boards on your behalf when needed.
Specialty shapes
Arched, circular, octagonal, trapezoidal, and other specialty-shape windows require custom orders and careful installation. We have installed every shape and configuration you can think of — bay windows in Berkeley craftsman homes, full-glass walls in Tiburon hillside houses, restored arched windows in San Rafael Mission-era homes, and oversized sliding-door assemblies in Mill Valley canyons.
Large-format and oversized openings
Modern architectural trends favor large fixed windows and floor-to-ceiling glass for view and light. These oversized assemblies require structural review, careful handling during installation, and specialized hardware. We have the equipment and experience to install panels weighing several hundred pounds safely and accurately.
Project management end-to-end
For complex projects we manage the entire process — measurements, product selection, structural review with engineers if needed, permit submission, coordination with stucco or siding subs, and final inspection. One point of contact, one set of standards, one clean handover.
